Info

Darksome Sea is a song written by Peter Wolfe, (also known as Wolfman), in which Doherty takes vocal duties. The track has never been released, despite it being rumoured for a long time to feature on Doherty's debut solo album.

A YouTube video emerged in August 2007, showing Doherty in the studio recording vocals for the song. Other people present in the recording studio are Peter Wolfe, The General and producer Jake Fior.

A 45-second teaser of the "monitor edit" is available on the MySpace page of Fior's production company, Beyond Bedlam Recordings.

Lyrics

To the other side
On the other hand
How did I survive seeing you again?
And I think of you in a waterfall
How you held me there
It was beautiful

Let's get out of here because we can't lose
I'm a writer you're a chanteuse
You're a superstar yes that's what you are
Get your dancing shoes and get in the car

How many leaves
Leaves on a tree?
If leaves were years it's eternity
This is the year we are at war
Ride that horse 'till your saddle's sore

How many leaves
Leaves on a tree?
If leaves were years it's eternity
This is the year we are at war
Down at the darksome sea

I'll take the blame
I'll bear the shame
I wish I could see your face again
On this planet of panic all forsaken
Oh, my arms are aching
Looking at the symbol
The thought of how
God is dead
Where are you now?
Where are we now?

How many leaves
Leaves on a tree?
If leaves were years it's eternity
This is the year we are at war
Ride that horse 'till your saddle's sore

How many leaves, leaves on a tree
If leaves were years it's eternity
This is the year we are at war
Down at the darksome sea
