In September 2003, Carl Barat indicated that The Libertines were planning a second "bastard" album which would include songs that didn't make it on the first album, Up the Bracket. In an interview with the NME, Barat revealed new song titles that were a "Work in Progress", One of which was The Love I Stole.
This song has never been officially released, however and no known recordings exist.
