Songs They Never Play on the Radio was first known to fans as a very early Babyshambles track, rarely played. When Andrew Kendall uploaded the content of Doherty's "My Music" folder, in April 2006, it contained an unknown 4-track session featuring two versions of Songs They Never Play On the Radio. Though it was very rarely played live, there are some early bootlegs available of Babyshambles playing the track on the Internet. A solo version was performed on French Television during the Live de la semaine de Canal+ Show.
This song was occasionally referred to as Sweet By and By, but it is now a completely different song to that currently featuring on Grace/Wastelands under that title.
