Eight Days A Week

Band songlist

Info

On 2nd June 2003, The Libertines (Without Doherty), recorded two versions of the beatles track "Eight Days a Week" with producer Bernard Butler. The song features Carl Barat on vocals and John Hassall on Backing vocals.

The two versions of Eight Days a Week were recorded following the sessions for Don't Look Back Into The Sun, and although they got recorded in 2003, it wasn't until late 2007 that it was leaked onto the internet via .org forum.

Peter Doherty had originally turned up at the studio on the day of recording, but decided not to stick around very long. He later posted online; "Fuck eight days a week, fine song and all, but I'd rather plot up somewhere and chastise the infinite for torturing me so,".

Lyrics

Ooh I need your love babe,
Guess you know it's true.
Hope you need my love babe,
Just like I need you.

Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain't got nothin' but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Love you every day girl,
Always on my mind.
One thing I can say girl,
Love you all the time.

Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain't got nothin' but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Eight days a week
I love you.
Eight days a week
Is not enough to show I care.

Ooh I need your love babe, ...

Eight days a week ...

Love you every ...

Eight days a week. (3x)
