Sister Sister is a song written by John Hassall and the only song recorded by The Libertines where Hassall is on main vocals. The track was first recorded as part of the EMI studio demos (along with "Bucket Shop") and was included on the compilation of The Libertines' best tracks in 2001 - Legs XI.
When John rejoined the band, after they had been signed, he was told he would have to take a back seat, as the bands image would be more about the relationship between Peter and Carl. Thus, Sister sister was no longer played by the band, and it was never released.
In 2008, seven years after the track had first appeared on Legs XI, John recorded Sister sister with his new band Yeti and released it on their Debut album "The Legend of Yeti Gonzales". The new version with Yeti was very different from the original demo and featured a trumpet; however it kept the Lo-fi feel.

Everyone knows the baby's unhappy
Another day in paradise
In a world where you never grow old
Warms my bones and melts the ice
So what's wrong, with my best friend
If to me her hand is lent
It's all bringing me down
It's not alright
Hold on tighter to
The friends that you made in the life that you once knew
She' not mine
And I won't change one thing got a moving line
She's not mine
And I won't change one thing
Mother dear oh I am so sorry
Father friend I feel so bad
Brother tried and failed to hate me
Even if he raised his hand
Sister sister please don't wake me
Won't you please try understand
Cos things just seem to overtake me
Self indulgence not the plan
Hold on tighter to
The friends that you made in the life you once knew
She's not mine
And I won't change one thing
Got a moving line
She's not mine
And I won't change one thing
Oh I wish I never shook your hand (x5)
